If you haven’t yet visited Kids Village, then we hope stepping through our front door will take your breath away. Designed based on an actual village (Hameau de la Reine in France, to be exact), Kids Village has cobblestone streets, storybook cottages and storefronts, beautiful window vignettes, fairy lights, lanterns, and–of course–the iconic Kids Village life-sized oak tree.

The interior architecture and design of Kids Village was painstakingly created not only to be a beautiful place to teach and learn, but also to support some of Kids Village’s most important early childhood development ideologies.

1 – Inspires Imagination

By building a uniquely beautiful and whimsical learning environment for our students, Kids Village sets an immediate tone of encouraging imagination.

Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge, for knowledge is limited to all we know and understand while imagination embraces the entire world and all there will ever be to know and understand.”

We believe that both knowledge and imagination are integral to the success of our students, and that the combination of the two allow children to creatively problem-solve and develop new ideas. Most schools believe that by empowering our students with knowledge of the world around them through academics and lifelong skills, we give them a base of information and reason upon which they can build for the rest of their lives. And we agree! But we also believe that imagination and creative thinking open up possibilities, opportunities, solutions, and ideas that might have otherwise been overlooked. By conscientiously encouraging imagination and creativity, we are giving them a mindset to not only see what’s immediately around them, but also what’s possible. Through this, Kids Village is encouraging the innovators, engineers, problem-solvers, entrepreneurs, and creators of our young generation.

2 – Represents and Encourages Community

Kids Village’s design wasn’t an accident; the village theme deliberately represents how each child’s gifts and talents will one day contribute to the world around them. By giving our students a place in a village of their own–a village in which they are encouraged to express and stretch their passions, talents, and abilities–we are preparing them to one day see themselves as contributing members to their own communities.

The beautiful village streets, shops, and cottages of Kids Village symbolize the world in which we live. It reminds children and teachers alike that each individual has unique gifts and talents to contribute to their wold. At Kids Village, each workshop and classroom experience gives the students an opportunity to explore and discover their natural talents while expanding lifelong skills. This ethos of exploration, special talents and gifts, and community is celebrated in the design of the village.

3 – Signifies Growth and Possibilities

The classrooms and workshops at Kids Village surround a life-sized oak tree that represents special significance to the students and staff at Kids Village. This tree represents life, knowledge, and growth. It reminds us to never underestimate the potential that each child has for success. It signifies that even at such a young age, children are developing roots that will guide them to becoming capable, confident, hardworking and intelligent young adults. It serves as a daily reminder that each child, no matter how small, has within them a greatness that will one day be a force for good and growth within our community and the lives of others.

4 – Help Inspire a Passion for Learning

We want every child who walks through the front door of Kids Village to see its magic, beauty, and wonder. For many of our young students, Kids Village is their first experience in a formal school atmosphere. Our whimsical, storybook environment helps them to be excited to come to class every day. It also helps them see school as a magical, inspiring place to learn.

Early childhood education is one of the most important periods of a child’s life. Not only are children are beginning to build an important learning base, but it also sets the tone for their viewpoint of school for the rest of their academic careers. That’s why we feel it is so important to make sure this early education experience is magical and memorable for our students.

When children feel energized, excited, and confident in their first experiences at school, it translates into a genuine interest for learning. This environment also helps stimulate creative learning, which helps them learn to more creatively solve problems and think outside the box. It teaches that that with creativity, hard work, and diligence, anything is possible.
